COVER POOLS SAF-T®3 ELECTRIC COVER

Poollock Hydraulic Automatic Safety Cover

Overview

Our automatic system is powered by a hydraulic direct-drive motor that opens and closes the cover with a simple turn of a key. The cover operates within a smooth track system and is considered the ultimate safety cover option on the market — not only because of its strength and reliability, but also because the electrical motor (the Power Pack) is kept safely away from the pool. Instead of being installed within one metre of the water, it is positioned next to the pool pump, ensuring maximum safety and compliance.

This option is suitable for both small pools (5 m x 3 m) and very large pools (up to 25 m x 8 m).

Additional advantages of this system include:

  • Exceptional lifespan

  • Highly versatile and adaptable

  • No risk of electrical injuries, as no electrical components are installed near the water

  • No risk of motor damage from water exposure

  • Supports up to 250 kg per m²

  • Opens and closes in under 60 seconds

Added Benefits

Safety

As the owners of Designer Pool Covers — and as parents — we believe that every pool owner should have a comprehensive safety plan in place when installing or maintaining a pool. Current legislation makes it compulsory for every pool to have a recognised safety feature such as a net, fence, or pool cover*.

Our range of covers is an ideal safety solution because each cover acts as a horizontal fence, completely sealing off the pool and preventing accidental or unsupervised access by children, pets, or uninvited visitors.

Additional safety benefits of our covers include:

  • Strength: Our covers can support up to 150 kg on manual options and 250 kg per m² on automated options.

  • Accessibility: Covers can be locked and secured using various systems (depending on the product selected).

  • Tamper-proof and durable: Designed to withstand daily use and resist interference.

* More detailed information about each product will be provided in the following sections.

Apply multiple layers of security around your pool. Remember: there is no substitute for proper supervision and safe practices.

Keeping your pool covered when not in use offers several economic benefits — both for you and the environment:

  • Reduces water evaporation by up to 80%.

  • Lowers pool-heating costs significantly.

  • Saves up to 70% on chemicals.

  • Reduces maintenance and upkeep time.

  • Keeps your pool clean and ready to swim in at any time.

You’ve designed and built the pool of your dreams to enjoy moments of peace, pleasure, and relaxation. By covering it with one of our products, you’ll ensure that:

  • Dirt, leaves, and debris are kept out of the pool.

  • Certain cover options even prevent rainwater from entering.

Don’t waste your time cleaning — simply open a Designer Pool Cover and your pool will be crystal-clear and ready to swim in all year round.

We can customise both manual and automatic covers, offering various installation options — including above-ground or below-ground systems — suitable for new builds, existing pools, and even free-form designs. All solutions can be tailored to your specific requirements and project budget.

We also offer a variety of colour options and finishes to complement your pool area.

Installation Options

Top Track – Under Mechanism (Recessed)

If you are willing to have some construction work done around your pool, this type of installation is an excellent choice. The principle is the same as the under-track, under-mechanism option, except that the mechanism is positioned in a pit below the pool level. This pit must be built during installation. Optional extras include a vanishing lid system that can be finished to match your pool surrounds — whether tiling, decking, or steel.

The advantages of this option include a straightforward installation process and easy maintenance.

If you are willing to have some work done around your pool, this installation option may be ideal. The principle is the same as the under-track, under-mechanism option, except the mechanism is positioned in a pit below pool level. This pit must be constructed as part of the installation. Optional extras include a vanishing lid system that can be finished to match your pool surrounds — whether tiling, decking, or steel.

The advantages of this option include a simple installation process and easy maintenance.

You can choose this installation if you have an existing swimming pool and prefer not to have extensive work done around the pool. In this option, the tracks are installed parallel to each other on top of the coping or decking, and the mechanism is positioned level with the pool surface. A top (flat) track is typically used, and the mechanism can be covered with a bench, providing both a neat finish and additional seating.

The advantages of this option include a quick installation turnaround and easy maintenance.

This option is best suited to new pool builds, as the pit can be incorporated easily during the construction phase. The cover still operates on a track system, but in this configuration, one track is mounted to the outside wall of the rim-flow.

The advantages of this option include no obstructions around the pool area, and it does not interfere with the aesthetics of the pool environment or the rim.

PoolLock Hydraulic Vinyl Cover options work well with free-form pools, whether existing or newly built. This installation is suitable as long as there is a flat surface around the pool and sufficient space to place the tracks on the paving. The tracks are installed parallel to each other on top of the coping or decking, and the mechanism is positioned level with the pool surface. A top (flat) track can be used for this installation, and the mechanism can be neatly covered with a bench.

The advantages of this option include a quick installation turnaround and easy maintenance.
