You can choose from a wide variety of polycarbonate or high-quality PVC slats, along with several installation options to ensure the cover integrates perfectly with your pool surroundings.
Our slatted covers are easy to install and even easier to operate. Simply press a button or turn a key to cover or uncover your pool. Not only are our slatted covers elegant and stylish, but they also help you save money thanks to the various benefits listed. One of the main advantages is that the polycarbonate option can increase your pool’s water temperature.
Please note: Slatted covers float on the water. Each slat is air-sealed and has natural buoyancy. For slatted covers to function as a safety cover, a safety ledge or stainless-steel handrail is required to ensure nothing can slip between the edge of the pool and the internal pool wall. This acts as a catchment system and prevents the slats from tilting too deeply underwater. This safety option can be added to any of the installation methods mentioned.
As the owners of Designer Pool Covers — and as parents — we believe that every pool owner should have a comprehensive safety plan in place when installing or maintaining a pool. Current legislation makes it compulsory for every pool to have a recognised safety feature such as a net, fence, or pool cover*.
Our range of covers is an ideal safety solution because each cover acts as a horizontal fence, completely sealing off the pool and preventing accidental or unsupervised access by children, pets, or uninvited visitors.
Additional safety benefits of our covers include:
Strength: Our covers can support up to 150 kg on manual options and 250 kg per m² on automated options.
Accessibility: Covers can be locked and secured using various systems (depending on the product selected).
Tamper-proof and durable: Designed to withstand daily use and resist interference.

Dirt, leaves, and debris are kept out of the pool.
Certain cover options even prevent rainwater from entering.
Don’t waste your time cleaning — simply open a Designer Pool Cover and your pool will be crystal-clear and ready to swim in all year round.
We can customise both manual and automatic covers, offering various installation options — including above-ground or below-ground systems — suitable for new builds, existing pools, and even free-form designs. All solutions can be tailored to your specific requirements and project budget.
We also offer a variety of colour options and finishes to complement your pool area.
During the construction of your pool, a wet pit is incorporated to house the mechanism. An optional lid system is installed flush with the surrounding pool surfaces, giving you a clean and seamless finish.
The advantages of this option include:
No obstructions around the pool area.
No interference with the aesthetic layout or movement around the pool.
A fully integrated, neat and streamlined appearance.
This is a great option for existing pools as slats can be cut to various sizes (large to small) to fit your pool while neatly folding up into a bench of choice. Advantages of this option includes a simple installation process, minimalistic preparation requirements and easy maintenance and access for servicing.
This option is ideal for a new build, as the mechanism can be neatly concealed in a wet pit. However, it can also be installed as an above-ground unit if required. In both cases, it enhances the overall aesthetics of the pool area.
This option can be installed on both existing pools and new builds, provided that the pool structure is square. The cover emerges through a gap of approximately 75 mm, and a lid system is included to support tiling for a clean, integrated finish.

A swimming pool cover deck protects your pool from debris, reduces maintenance, conserves water by preventing evaporation, and enhances safety by creating a barrier that helps prevent accidental falls into the water.
A well-designed swimming pool cover deck can also improve accessibility by incorporating features such as level, stable surfaces for easier movement around the pool area, as well as the integration of ramps or lifts for individuals with mobility challenges.
Handrails should be installed along any steps or ramps leading to the swimming pool cover deck. They must be sturdy, set at an appropriate height (typically about 34 to 38 inches above the stair-tread nosing), and comply with local building regulations or relevant accessibility guidelines such as the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), where applicable.
Yes, existing swimming pool cover decks can often be retrofitted with handrails. This process involves assessing the current structure’s capacity to support the handrails and then installing them securely in accordance with safety standards and accessibility requirements.
Materials commonly used for constructing a durable and safe swimming pool cover deck include concrete, pavers, treated wood, composite decking, aluminium, and stainless steel. For handrail systems specifically, corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel or powder-coated aluminium are recommended due to their durability and low maintenance requirements.
